The Red Door Resort is a 12-acre lakeside resort on the north shore of Mille Lacs Lake in Aitkin, Minnesota, about two hours from both the Twin Cities and Duluth. Couples reserve the resort’s cabins, motel rooms, and event spaces for the weekend, so family and friends stay together from the rehearsal dinner to Sunday morning coffee.

Included with your weekend: a lakeside ceremony lawn, our 96-person Event Center, tables and chairs, and harbor slips for guests who bring a boat. The resort sleeps about 104 guests on site, and larger groups add a tent on the lawn for the reception.

Pricing is simple. There’s no venue fee. Fall weekends carry a $10,000 minimum, and every dollar your guests spend on lodging counts toward it, so a group that fills the resort for two nights covers the venue.

We are a classic Minnesota lake resort, not a polished banquet hall. Fall weekends after Labor Day are our sweet spot, with the lake and fall color as your backdrop. Tours are casual and easy to schedule.
